  • Algorithm development.• Therapy innovation for COPD and other respiratory disorders / technical de-risking.• In-silico clinical trials using virtual patients based on mathematical models of respiratory physiology.• Clinical trial design and coordination.• Internal consulting on acoustics and simulation.• New business development.• Led a team of clinicians, biomedical engineers, software developers and instructional designers to build and deploy a novel simulator-based eLearning program to teach non-invasive ventilation. The resulting course is hosted by the European Respiratory Society and has proven successful in training clinicians in over 100 countries.• Developed capability in physical systems simulation and introduced high-fidelity system modelling into the development process of a life support ventilator. Efforts enabled thorough and continuous in-silico testing and rapid evaluation of proposed design changes.• Built a integrative physiology model of sleep disordered breathing and respiratory failure, adapting and extending models from the physiological literature and building new models of key subsystems where needed.• Integrated mathematical models of human cardiopulmonary physiology with a physical breathing simulator to test ResMed medical devices. Models were built encompassing many disease states and have become a key part in device verification and validation.• Engaged and collaborated with external experts on aspects of physiology and modelling in critical care medicine.
