  To lead on the implementation of projects including a major review to determine the future configuration of the recycling service including but not limited route optimisation / in-cab technology, vehicle procurement. and how the digital agenda can enable a more customer friendly and interactive service. Other projects may include food waste and behaviour change. To assist in the consultation process and delivery of the outputs of the new Waste Strategy. Working with the Group Leader, Waste Policy Manager and Waste Operations Manager to prepare tenders and quotations for the provision of work to be undertaken by external contractors, where applicable.To work closely with WRAP / external agencies as Welsh Government appointed change practitioners on the review.To liaise closely with the Council’s Transport Manager to ensure that the appropriate vehicles, plant and equipment are purchased for the Group. Ensure that the proper maintenance is carried out within the agreed transport costs.To challenge and review all working practices to strive for continual improvement in service delivery.To support the Group Leader on corporate initiatives that impact upon the Waste Service and in the achievement of statutory targets.To prepare board packs and papers for strategic monthly / quarterly reviews and to operate and maintain the waste and programme risk register.
