      Formally ICI Paints, the role based at ICI’s head office was to advice professional users and specifiers of the functional use and practical application of all coatings and accessories across Dulux Trade - Dulux - Glidden - Polycell - Hammerite- International & Cuprinol also offering technical support for the field based teams. A subsidiary of AkzoNobel, Dulux Decorator Centre was the largest trade merchant group in the UK and continues to grown supplying coatings to the trade professional decorator.

      After my first twelve months I was awarded Territory Manager of the year at the national sales conference having managed £9.6 million of business generating 6% growth in a already mature market place which reduced overall by 2% nationwide. With a restructuring of the sales force I managed over 70 independent decorative paint and builders merchants across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Middlesex and Sussex. This was previously managed by three sales people, I moved the area from minus 34% to plus 12% in one year. This required far closer account management as opposed to quick sales. Supporting and working with directors, owners of businesses, buyers, marketing teams development managers and finance directors to ensure our range of brands are maximising both of our opportunities and they are buying into the businesses vision and future of this market.
