I provided system administration and corporate IT services as a CCNA and MCSE for various firms in the IT and Telecommunications industry. • Grameenphone ltd - telenor company

      Jan 2004 - Jan 2008

In this role I was responsible for the delivery of large-scale network rollout projects in an extremely competitive environment in Bangladesh, including the largest BTS rollout project in the country – 4,200 base stations in one year. While the number of sites was huge this volume was possible in this context as there were fewer regulatory hurdles in Bangladesh than in Australia.I undertook the project management of multiple large-scale roll-outs – up to 2,000 sites scoping and designing the roll-out delivery schedule and managing and controlling the workflow to ensure timely delivery of key milestones. Guiding and influencing the team and individual team members I was able to ensure cooperative interaction to further the delivery goals. Selection of key contractors fell within the range of my responsibilities, as did monitoring the timeliness and quality of contracted works, and daily and weekly reporting, and continuous follow-up to ensure deadlines were met and the project remained ‘on track’ and within the projected timelines.Applying engineering knowledge and problem solving skills to manage risks and issues, I successfully oversaw and led the network rollout of 4,200 base stations in 2007 and over-saw and led the network rollout with 2,600 base stations in 2006. Selected by management to head this new assurance department during a challenging time, I established, managed and led 38 employees in 6 sections. The objective of the department was to direct service delivery and assurance projects—an objective I met. Astute leadership and mentoring of the team led to outstanding performance in delivering network quality, Information Security, QA projects. A significant proportion of my time was engaged in assessing and devising strategies to turn around network performance from swap-related network quality problems, and assessing and developing a comprehensive end-to-end service management system. One outcome of these assessments was the decision to deploy a SwissQual benchmarking system and mobile probes to assure high quality end-to-end services delivery. I also led a joint Telenor-Deloitte team to undertake an Information Security Audit to detect risks, assess vulnerability, and devise and implement measures to attain 0-loss from cyber security threats. In the role I implemented a Checkpoint Intrusion Prevention System and HP ArcSight SIEM system and directed numerous lean Six Sigma projects to achieve cost efficiency and continuous improvement. Under my leadership we delivered RAN Swap Acceptance and QA of 3900 sites with pre-swap quality and I directed a Telenor-Ericsson joint team to identify revenue risks and ultimately ensured the protection of AU $20.83m in revenues for 2012. Show less I took over as the Energy Efficiency Project Manager at the CTO’s request to transform network operations with energy saving and environmental initiatives.Implementing the Telenor Group’s climate, environmental and energy strategies I ensured Grameenphone became a sustainable organization. I developed a set of structured initiatives to implement energy use reduction program. and was responsible for implementing energy and carbon emission saving initiatives that reduced energy consumption from the network by 10% in 2009, and winning the 2009 GSMA Asia Mobile Green Award (as the head of Network Energy Reduction Program).Instrumental in the promotion of savings behaviour by linking employees’ annual performance KPI’s with the corporate energy performance I implemented a successful communications strategy to promote the energy savings behavioural KPI’s ensuring employee engagement. The outcome was that we achieved 91% employee awareness (annual survey), and the programme was a remarkable success. Show less
