      At Primedia Publishing I was the art director across several magazines, including ADvantage, Leading Architecture and Microsoft TechNet. I handled art direction, picture sourcing and layout on my own as well as sending the files to print. Mentored by the highly respected, late John Farquhar, my time at this company was priceless and essential to my growth.

      After working on various business to business titles at Primedia Publishing, I wanted to explore the consumer based side of publishing. When the news broke that Upper Case Media (then publishers of FHM and Heat South Africa) were launching a new title, I applied and moved across. Here i learnt to work under the pressure of a weekly magazine and got valuable insight while working under highly respected individuals in the publishing industry.

      I worked at Media Nova as an art director across various magazines including the consumer publication Sandton Magazine and two custom publications, Legacy Inspires (published for the Legacy Hotel Group) and Your Wealth (published for Liberty financial advisors). Whilst here, I oversaw a team of 2 designers, created new pitches for custom titles, organised photoshoots by booking locations, photographers, stylists and make up artists as well as did several of the portrait and fashion shoots myself.
