The client was not only facing increased contract charges but also poor customer satisfaction and complaints. I project-managed the transfer of the service to a new supplier in Liverpool, handling staff changes, office moves, Service Level Agreements and renegotiation/termination of contracts. I redesigned the overall workflow, incorporating a risk-based process to improve rigour while maintaining efficiency. The project stayed on budget and phase one went live on schedule. Six months on, the service was achieving vastly improved customer satisfaction. Show less Managed the programme to establish a new standards accreditation scheme for the private security industry. Making use of existing standards including ISO9000:2000 and EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management), Ian facilitated the development of a scheme applicable to all sizes of firm and steered the proposals via a Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) through the SIA Board, the Home Office, HM Treasury, the Cabinet Office and Better Regulation Task Force. The marketing approach generated responses from over 1,600 firms, a remarkable 60% of the industry. The project came in 35% under budget, mainly through computing and consultancy savings, while managing the demands of a diverse group of stakeholders from sole traders to major FTSE 250 corporates.
