    • TimeValue Software

      Jun 2007 - Jan 2010
Customer Data Management and Communications Intern

I have worked for TimeValue Software nearly every Summer/Winter break during college. I started out simply doing data entry and customer service projects but eventually worked my way up to marketing pieces and international sales strategies. From these roles I’ve developed a good grasp on customer database management, branding and effective post-sale communications, basic corporate logistical models and how to improve them, and sales strategy development.

    • Office of Residence Life at Syracuse University

      Jul 2008 - May 2009
      Residential Advisor/Learning Community Advisor

Being a Residential Advisor was probably the most rewarding experience of my college career. Though the work is tough and requires strict adherence to protocols, loads of programming experience, organization and problem solving skills unattainable in any other role, and many very late nights, it all pays off. Being able to help my residents through their first year and watch them grow is something you can’t get doing anything else. Now they’re all juniors and are Presidents of their sororities and fraternities, running their own organizations, getting internships, and making me proud with every step. Show less

    • Miner For Mayor Campaign

      Mar 2009 - May 2009
      Data Analyst and Volunteer Manager

The time I spent on the Mayor’s campaign was some of the most influential in deciding what I wanted to do with my future. From canvassing to organizing mailers, keeping an office stocked and setting up a new office, working first hand with donors and volunteers, I realized that I could myself making a living working in the super competitive, super fast paced world of campaign management. The best off-site experience any college student could ask for.

    • Orientation Leader at Syracuse University

      Aug 2009 - Sept 2010
      Orientation Leader

Serving as an Orientation Leader, as I always described is a sprint: it’s all about knowing when to go 100% and when to give 150%. We were in charge of helping first year students move into their residence halls, make sure they know all about their campus resources, and throw some great events to help make the transitions easier. I also get called into doing a lot of first-year panel events as this position requires a tremendous knowledge of campus resources. Easily the best team I’ve ever played on! Show less

    • Syracuse University Student Association

      Jan 2010 - Dec 2010
President (formerly Student Engagement Chair, Public Relations Committee Member)

As the representative of over 13,000 undergraduates, it was my role to identify ways to improve the student experience at Syracuse University. With a team of about 40 other students from each grade level, college, and background, we worked round-the-clock to create new policy, improve programs, allocate money, host and attend events, and give the students a voice at every level of the administration. This was the most productive and most memorable year of my college life and I am eternally grateful to everyone that was involved in our year of progressing a better student experience. Show less

    • Syracuse University Board of Trustees

      Apr 2010 - May 2011
Undergraduate Student Liaison, Lead Student Consultant for Executive-Level Decisions

I served as one of our two undergraduate representatives to the Board of Trustees. It was my role to ensure that a student opinion is represented at the highest level of decision making of the University. This required a strong balance between knowing each and every issue facing the University and how they impacted students with a good ability to work across administrative lines. It was an honor to serve in this capacity.

    • National Centrist Party

      May 2011 - Aug 2011
      Communications and Political Consultant

My position with the NCP placed me at the crossroads between political strategy and free media analyst. On the political side, I developed recruitment strategies, established policy and issue positions, and determined effective geographies to market our platform. On the communications side, I leveraged social media to drive our message while also using radio shows and print media interviews to build a following.

Managed a team of four research associates and oversaw about 30 projects per team member each year. Directly managed my team to collect information, discern trends and actionable insights, rapid-test findings and solutions with other research contacts, and deliver findings. Also guided professional development of each associate on my team and crafted short-term and long-term career goals based on their strengths and interests. Show less In my tenure as an associate I completed over 50 custom research briefs for college and university senior administrators on topics in student affairs, business affairs, academic affairs, continuing and online education, and community colleges. I conducted this research through a number of qualitative and quantitative approaches, including expert interviews, surveys, secret shopping, statistical collection and analysis, market research tools including BLS data, and crowd-sourcing insights. I then presented my findings in a variety of formats including research briefs (Word doc), spreadsheets (Excel doc), and slideshow presentations (PowerPoint), as well as phone conference and in-person finding deliveries.
