Therefore, to be a responsible leader, an individual would need to have the inner obligation to do the right thing.The responsible leadership model is rooted in the values of Ubuntu and Servant leadership, and it acts as a system, functioning as a whole, where all three areas (contextual environment, organisational environment, and leadership system) are interlinked. This means that if there is a change in one, it will incite change in the other. The leader needs to understand and be resilient towards the changing contextual and organisational environments while finding a balance between being people-centric and results-driven in order to achieve sustainable value.
