  First Grade Teacher

  I work 28 years at Jackson Christian Elementary school as a second grade teacher, 1/2nd grade teacher, and as a first grade teacher. I also earned my masters in learning disabilities from Spring Arbor University in 2010. Along with teaching I have been very active part of the school by coaching volleyball to 5-8 grades. I have started many programs in first grade that have become a tradition to the first grade class such as the First Grade Snack sale, planting and taking care of a small flower garden along the school entrance, and raising money from the Ground Hog Derby to send all of our first graders on a train trip to Binder park zoo for free. Along with being a teacher full of activity outside the class, I do the same in my classroom. My class is full of multi-learning activities such as singing, cheering, educational games, and hands on science experiments. I am currently hired at Fitness Finders as their educational consultant. Here my responsibilities include bring current programs up to Common Core Standards and the process of co-writing a new behavior program. Although this is not my strong points, which is reading skills, I have enjoyed bring my experience as an creative hands on teacher into their programs. Show less

  I am currently employed at Fitness Finders as an Educational Consultant. My responsibilities included up dating current programs to follow Common Core Standards and the co-writing a behavior program for pre-schools to grade 6.
