      Senior Training And Development Specialist

I currently work for a small charity . I am autistic myself and create, design and deliver neurodiversity informed courses aimed at creating better understanding, acceptance and accommodation of autistic people. My primary audience is parents but I also deliver sessions with autistic adults, other professionals including those involved in the mental health sector and the commissioning of support services. In my role as a consultant I have also undertaken work with more mainstream organisations who number autistic people amongst their employees and /or regularly interact with them in the course of their work (pretty much everyone!). Previous experience includes support work at a local authority home for children with a learning disability and a long spell as a Senior TA at a charity run school for autistic pupils.Having worked for a time in my late teens and early twenties as an artist in the print industry I can bring some creative flair to presentations and believe that, to be truly effective, training should contain both an element of storytelling and exercises aimed at providing a more immersive experience of some aspects of autistic perception, however approximate that may be.I am well versed in all aspects of online and offline training and can deliver many of the autism focused elements outlined in tiers 1 & 2 of the core capabilities which became mandatory for those working in the Health and Social care sector last summer.
