      Jun 2009 - Feb 2011
      Buyer / Procurement Specialist

L & N Industrial Tool and Supply served defense and defense - related manufacturing companies. It was my responsibility to help provide value to our customers by ensuring that we could provide a variety of required materials including MRO, custom fabrication tools and components, and larger assemblies in the quantities they needed, and when they needed them. Working closely with tool manufacturers and other OEMs enabled me to achieve these goals while simultaneously cutting costs for our customers and L & N. I was also required to effectively manage the supply chain on a fixed-price defense contract. This required me to:Assess supplier viabilityNegotiate prices/contracts with suppliersDevelop inventory control strategies to maintain low inventory costs without sacrificing product availability for customersDevelop process controls to ensure process variables are within appropriate limits to maintain profit goals.Develop proposals for collaborative re-stocking and replenishing of commercial manufacturing customersIdentify logistics/supply chain inefficiencies that could result in lost revenue Show less
