  One-year master project entitled "Characterization of DAT missense mutation in novel mouse models" at the Molecular Neuropharmacology and Genetics Lab, Department of Neuroscience at University of Copenhagen A translational project with focus on neuropharmacology and implications of mutations in the dopaminergic system and how that may be involved in the development of neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s Disease and ADHD. The aim was to investigate and characterize DAT missense mutation in novel mouse model by performing in vivo behavioral studies, confocal fluorescence microscopy analysis and functional studies on transporter proteins (synaptosomal uptake, cell transfection and uptake assays in cell cultures)Supervision by Prof. Ulrik Gether at Molecular Neuropharmacology and Genetics Laboratory (Gether Lab), Dept of Neuroscience, UCPH. The main aim is to understand the role of mast cells in lung diseases by characterize mast cell phenotypes and localization in clinical samples, investigate how mast cells interact and affect surrounding cells and extracellular matrix, explore molecular pathway and potential therapeutic targets.
