      Mixed methods study designed and tested two new online platforms to assess and improve clinical decision making in Sudden Cardiac Arrest. The first platform developed was the Online Cardiac Arrest Simulator (OCAS), which included both instructional videos and a simulated SCA. The second platform, the Online Clinical Decision Platform (OCDP), was then designed based on the results and recommendations of OCAS. All educational materials and platforms were designed by the PhD candidate and included point of view filming, realistic location shoots, high-fidelity simulation and clinically accurate scenarios; and were accessible by multiple media devices.More than 1,200 clinicians in Australia participated in this project. The findings demonstrate the potential of online simulation to assess and improve clinical decision making. Show less

      As a volunteer Divisional Superintendent I have managed a team of over 40 Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, Student health care professionals, and first responders. As part of this role I oversee the management of the finances, training, standards, response capacity, and team functioning of the division. Other duties as part of this role include, -Strategic Planning: It is my responsibility to plan the short, medium and long term management of the division. This includes in areas of financial planning, operational capacity, division size, training objectives, and clinical targets. - General Administrative duties: These include fielding enquires from the public and general members, in addition to managing administration relating to clinical, training, and financial compliance. -Liaison: It is my responsibility to liaise with major stakeholders, the community, and senior state management. I also attend emergency council meetings for larger events (for example those held at Sydney Showground) to formulate emergency management plans and to aid in the selection of resources required for the event. -Divisional finances: I along with the divisional 2IC and the head of training determine the long term acquisition needs of the division. This includes determining an appropriate acquisition strategy to allow the purchasing and maintenance of equipment and the provision of training to fall within the divisions capacity Show less --Event organisation: It was my role to oversee the provision of first aid to all divisional events. This is inclusive of managing a team of volunteers who plan and executive events.       Program Director for the $122 million NSW Ambulance (NSWA) Regional Ambulance Infrastructure Reconfiguration (RAIR) Program. This program includes a reconfiguration of Ambulance Infrastructure, models of care, clinical profiles and operational research across all response areas of NSWA excluding Sydney. The RAIR Program is tasked with the delivery of major service delivery and clinical change programs as well as the construction of over 20 infrastructure projects across the state. As the Program Director my role includes the strategic leadership of the program and its staff as well as representing NSWA in interactions with external stakeholders and ensuring the program achieves major strategic change and innovation targets in line with the needs and direction of NSWA. I am also responsible for coordinating effort across NSWA in the development, assessment of need and implementation of a range of innovative out of hospital service roles across NSW. As part of this role I work with a diverse range of stakeholders to develop new evidence based and multidisciplinary strategic partnerships with other agencies. My role was diverse and included the planning and implementation of major state plans & projects as well as providing expert advice and assistance for operational projects. In this role I managed projects across rural and metropolitan areas and have conducted modelling and consulting services for a metropolitan project with a budget exceeding $156 million and a $122million Regional Program. In this role, I have worked in diverse areas including Sydney CBD, Campsie, Blacktown, the northern beaches and am currently serving out of Lane Cove station. As a paramedic it is my job to respond to Triple Zero (000) emergency calls and provide emergency medical treatment, stabilisation and transport of ill and injured people. My routine duties include measuring and interpreting patients physical, physiological and psychological states so that I may arrive at a diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan.
