      During my time in this role, I operated as sub-investigator alongside principal investigators on a variety of clinical trials in the neuromuscular, neurological, and genetic disease populations, including gene therapy, natural history, and other investigator-initiated and sponsored interventional trials. I completed trial related patient visits, review of laboratory and imaging reports, managed adverse events, collaborated with IRB, educated and acted as resource to study staff, and performed study related procedures. Additionally, I had the opportunity to formulate new trial protocols, advise staff on creation of manuals of operating procedures and other trial related documents, and provide appropriate medical guidance to research team. Show less In this role, I collaborated with large multi-disciplinary team to examine, diagnose, treat, coordinate, educate, and advocate for individuals and families with neuromuscular disorders including Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, myotonic dystrophy, limb-girdle muscular dystrophy, congenital muscular dystrophies and myopathies, myasthenia gravis, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, Charcot-Marie Tooth disease, fascioscapulohumeral dystrophy, and other neuromuscular conditions. I also ensure compliance with neuromuscular standards of care and delivered excellent patient care. I identified, coordinated, and aided in ordering and interpretation of appropriate genetic testing of patients and appropriate family members. Additionally, I had the opportunity to conduct clinical research as sub-investigator on various muscular dystrophy clinical trials, including gene therapy and downstream agents; liaised with applicable patient advocacy organizations to promote excellence in patient care; and consulted with internal and external stakeholders as subject matter expert for projects including Health Economics Outcomes Research projects, process improvement, quality improvement, and advisory panels.
