I currently focus on policy development concerning issues such as deaths in police custody (the David Dungay inquest), rights and experiences of mental health consumers, prisoner education, the application of trauma informed care (TIC) and health regulations for prisoners during Covid-19.I engage in correspondence with the general public, legal professionals, media and government officials to implement these policies, in an attempt to promote positive change and support for individuals that require it and the society as a whole. This role requires significant time management and communication skills in order to proactively seek out new stakeholders and sponsors, provide students with information about alternative career pathways and diversify careers seminars and events. My role includes preparing, managing, coordinating, and evaluating the running of various MULS Advocacy Competitions, such as the Witness Examinations Competition and the Championship Moot. I communicate regularly with all stakeholders, whether this be competitors, alumni, academics, and legal professionals to ensure the smooth running of the event and provide enriching experiences for students completing their law degree.
