I construct a well's architecture based on the pore pressure & fracture gradient interpretation and also basing it on the formation's lithology. I utilize EDM Landmark software (Stress Check, WellCat, Well Plan, Compass, CasingSeat) to help me with my design analysis to select casing material and casing seats. I also run kick tolerance analysis to determine whether the casing design holds in an event of a kick. This is also coupled with the development of the mud and cementing program including standoff analysis for the casing centralizers. I then come up with the hydraulics plan that will enable me to do the drill bit selection by also analyzing the formation's UCS. I design the plug & abandon strategy and submit it to local governing bodies for approval. Well planning-wise, I do the project time and cost estimation using the P1 software and prepare the pre-drill AFE for site survey and soil boring as well as the final drilling AFE. During the operations phase, I go to the rig as a site supervisor to provide engineering support to the rig site crew. I hold a valid IADC WellCap Well Control certification.Drilling portfolio includes but not limited to:Penara NW-1: Highly deviated well using RSS point the bit directional drilling technique. Did Tough Logging Condition (TLC).D-41: Experience with Casing While Drilling Level 3 directional & retrievable.Sepat Deep-2: Ultra HPHT well (11,000 psi surface/420 degF). Biggest challenge was drilling and then cementing this well in a very narrow pressure margin (0.5ppg) which was solved with MPD technology. Mitigated several well control/ballooning issues due to fractured coal layers which caused loss kick scenario. K-5.4: High CO2 well (70% CO2) & high H2S (70ppm). Drilled with PMCD to cater for losses in the carbonate section. Biggest challenge was managing the logistics of continuously supplying LAM fluid to mitigate the losses. To add to the challenge was performing coring and logging in PMCD mode. Show less This was my first role upon graduation. In this function I was responsible for technical planning, contracting works, executing and coordinating well intervention operations for production enhancement and idle well rectification jobs. I prepared well intervention programs for routine and non-routine slickline works which include pressure surveys, insert valve installation, tubing patch and gas lift valve change-out. Among the softwares I used was the Cerberus software to simulate toolpath entry in a well trajectory prior to actual intervention.I have also planned and coordinated CTU activities which include methanol soaking, acid stimulation, N2 kickoff and also sand cleanout. I have experience with more complicated CTU activities such as catenary CTU operations assisted by barge performed on a small monopod platform. I have also done a job utilizing sacrificial coil tubing to patch up multiple leak point in a tubing string. Experience with wireline (E-Line) operations such as perforation jobs (to add perfs), perform well leak detection surveys and run tractors through highly deviated wells. Major Well Intervention projects undertaken but not limited to:Solid Deposition Treatment Technology (SDTT): Used thermochemicals to cure wax plugging problems in the highly waxy marginal fields of Peninsular Malaysia (Penara Field).Sand Control: Utilized CTU to perform sand consolidation with Furan resin. i-coil and an inflatable CT packer were utilized. (Angsi Field)Methanol Soaking: Pump highly flammable liquid methanol to clear up condensate banking in high condy gas wells using CTU. (Angsi Field)Barge Assisted Catenary CTU Operations: Performed barge assisted CTU sand cleanout operations on a small monopod platform. CTU coil reel on barge, Gooseneck on platform main deck. (Abu Cluster Field)Fishing (Vietnam): Designed fishing program and supervised on-site slickline fishing to fish out multiple wireline toolstrings in a highly deviated well. (Ruby Field) Show less

I was responsible for well engineering design as well as handling land drilling operations in the Garraf Field, Thi Qar province in the Republic of Iraq. The wells in this field are carbonate wells with varying degree of losses. Besides engineering, I was also in charge of budget and cost control for the drilling department. I also worked on tendering and contract management for the department. This role was based in the Garraf Field, Iraq on a rotational basis.
