  The Recruit Sustainment Program was created to help new enlistees in the U.S. Army National Guard get accustomed to the military way of life. I was a member of the cadre for this program for approximately six months. During my time there my responsiblities including training new enlistees on the customs, courtesies, and general way of life for a member of the armed forces. I was responsible for the training that new recruits will need to succeed in basic training and in AIT (Advanced Individual Training). I used my experience from my previous time on Active Duty and my two deployments overseas to instruct the recruits on how to make full use of their training. As a Non-Commissioned Officer it was my duty to provide direct support to the Lieutenant in charge of a platoon, or the Captain in charge of a Company; this is in relation to my duties to provide indirect fire support from available assets. In the same role I was also responsible for training, counseling, and advising lower enlisted military personnel.
