I have been placed in the American Association of University Women (AAUW) in Washington DC.The fellowship was a major opportunity with tangible personal and professional benefits, that undoubtedly expanded my knowledge about women’s empowerment work in other communities through the perspectives of AAUW, the fellows and the interaction with many diverse civil society leaders during the program. AAUW brought a new and unique perspective to my experience. Learning about all the work done since 1881 until now is astonishing as it shows how strong and committed the team is to achieve all the goals needed to advance women’s status in the US and in the world. This exchange of experiences constituted a fertile ground for me to gain inspiration from challenges we encounter in our local context. By drawing on the global experiences AAUW. Show less
