      Short postdoc (advisor Susanne Gabrielsson) where I studied the role of extracellular vesicles in urinary bladder cancer through analysing proteomics data. I showed that bladder tissue, even after pathologically clean resection, releases exosomes driving malignant reprogramming - highlighting the need for early cystectomy.

      Physician-scientist internship funded by competitive grant from Umeå University. 21 months full-time clinical work divided between surgery, internal medicine, psychiatry and rural general practice. During the funded research time I was able to finalise multiple papers ranging from orthopaedics to bladder cancer, where I was involved in setting up a multi-centre study.

      Postdoc (advisor Itay Tirosh) applying single-cell technologies to study various clinical aspects of head and neck cancer in close collaboration with surgeon Dr. Sid Puram, WashU St Louis. Notably, I showed that HPV-infected cancer cells can repress viral genes as a method of chemoresistance.
