      This is a command position responsible for certain administrative and supervisory work in the delivery of Fire/Rescue Services and involves the supervision/management of stag engaged in fire suppression or other assigned Fire/Rescue program areas. Work involves management of a multi-station fire assignment in a specific geographical area of the County. Exchange information with other Fire/Rescue personnel and emergency medical personnel to provide work direction, instruction, supervision, and guidance with supervisors to receive assignments, plan and coordinate work, and exchange information with personnel of other agencies to coordinate firefighting and rescue efforts and work with the public to provide information and emergency assistance as required.Supervises assigned personnel, conducts and coordinates work in such areas as training, maintenance, and security of buildings, grounds and equipment. Work involves planning, procurement and coordination and assuring the implementation of and adherence to established policies and procedures. The work performed affects the rescue and safety of individuals and the preservation of structures and physical property. Work is performed in accordance with established policies and procedures, which are normally applicable but which may require modification by the employee in unusual situations. Assignments require initiative and resourcefulness, analysis and assessment of problems and/or emergency situations and judgment in deciding upon the appropriate course of action. Work is performed on an assigned shift, requires periods of strenuous physical effort and involves exposure to heat, dirt and other very unpleasant conditions. An employee in this class is exposed to the risk of serious injury requiring the use of protective clothing and the strict observance of safety precautions and procedures.       I have been the CTC Coordinator for Midway Fire Rescue and have seen our teaching and community programs grow expeditiously since assuming the Coordinator role. Currently we have 7 training sites in the community and we are teaching to over 4000+ students a year through the various AHA disciplines. Midway Fire Rescue was just awarded a Heart Safe Community Award for 2014. We provide all Heartsaver programs, Healthcare provider, ACLS, and PALS through our Community Training Center.

      Unit Citation Midway Fire Rescue Nov 2015 B Shift responded to a report of an MVA, vehicle vs. motorcycle. With patient ejected and vehicles on fire. E-821, T-841, R-816, M-825, and Battalion 82 responded. Requesting Life Net 6 while enroute to incident. On arrival, 1 vehicle total engulfed in fire and 1 occupant had escaped the vehicle, and 1 patient in the highway with multiple injuries. Battalion 82 established command and ordered E-811 to set up Landing Zone and E-841 to engage in suppression and search.
