      Graduate Research Assistant

As part of an Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) funded project, the research for my masters degree focused on roller-compacted concrete (RCC) pavements. My research has focused on the effect of aggregate gradation on RCC mechanical properties, the use of recycled aggregates in RCC pavements, fiber-reinforced RCC, use of quarry fines and reclaimed asphalt pavement as a cement treated base course, and mixture design of RCC using the gyratory compactor. I've performed modified Proctor testing for RCC, strength testing (compression, split tensile, and flexural), concrete fracture, drying shrinkage, elastic modulus (static and dynamic), Vebe testing of RCC, characterization of fiber-reinforced concrete (ASTM C1609), compressive and tensile creep testing of concrete, and use of the gyratory compactor.
