Aerospace Engineering Doctoral Student at University of Toronto. Research includes machine learning, statistical modelling, and aerodynamic design.

  • Education

    • University of toronto

      2019 - 2021
Master of applied science aerospace engineering
    • University of toronto

      2021 - 2025
Doctor of philosophy - phd aerospace engineering
    • University of toronto

      2014 - 2018
Bachelor of applied science (basc) aerospace, aeronautical and astronautical engineering
  • Experience

    • York university

      May 2015 - Sept 2015
      Research assistant

I modelled distribution of carbon molecules in polymer matrix and how the molecules shift when the matrix becomes a foam. I also developed computer simulation to evaluate thermal and electrical conductivity. Supervisor: Dr. Siu Ning Leung (York University).

    • University of toronto

      May 2016 - Aug 2016
      Research assistant

I performed simulations of fluid flow for two projects: airfoil optimization with prediction of laminar-to-turbulent flow transition, derivation/implementation of flow boundary values for modelling turbofan engines. Supervisor: Dr. David Zingg (UTIAS).

      Sept 2019 - now

I taught machine learning at an introductory level to a class of ~60 third-year robotics engineering students. I prepared and delivered lectures, assignments, and examinations covering different approaches to machine learning, starting from linear models and working up to neural networks. I also covered statistical perspectives on learning, and the connections between deterministic approaches (e.g. minimizing error) and probabilistic approaches. Teaching obligations consisted of 4-5 hours of lecture per week. عرض أقل I was a teaching assistant for the aircraft design capstone course for Jan-Apr 2021 and 2022. I led tutorials on the design of payload-carrying model airplanes. I taught students to analyze aircraft performance, stability, and structure. I instructed students in model aircraft construction using machine shop equipment and took part in flight testing their airplanes. Finally, I designed tutorials and example airplane components as teaching tools for design and construction which continue to be used after I left the teaching team. عرض أقل
