  5,000 South Africans are waiting for life-saving organ transplants. Up to 60 viable organs are discarded each week, instead of being given to these patients in desperate need. Save7 is an NPO that uses social media and artificial intelligence to increase the transplant rate across South Africa.AwarenessSave7.org provides an easy sign up portal for potential donors, as well as a time capsule for users to leave a posthumous message for their family. It also features an AI chatbot that can answer any questions about organ donation in South Africa in any language. Our incentivized sharing network that provides rewards for users who share information about organ donation via social media. Encouraging users to share life-saving information with their friends and family.As of August 2023, Save7 has 5 active branches across the country at Stellenbosch, Wits, UCT, WSU and Varsity College - a total of 70 volunteers, all pushing to increase the efficiency of the South African transplant ecosystem.Support Save7 provides support groups for pre and post transplant patients. We launched our first dialysis support group, led by one of our previous dialysis patients with a team of OT students and nurses at Tygerberg Hospital. This support group is currently providing mentorship, meals, exercises and commercial upskilling to 40 dialysis patients every month.Systems Save7 functions as a"pro-bono healthcare consultancy" focused on improving transplantation workflows. We do this by creating systems that make it easier for doctors and medical students to access information about organ donation, and networks that make it easier for doctors to refer potential organ donor candidates to transplant centres.   As part of my interest in gaining experience in the business world and in working with BCG, I took over some of the responsibilities of an outgoing BCG consultant, who had just finished her case with Home+. Home+ is an early-stage venture backed by Santam, as such there was no shortage of problems to solve. I took control of the hiring management process - setting up candidate interviews, liaising with candidates, our HR partners at Santam and our Home+ exco to find the best candidates to fill the 15+ vacancies in 3 months. Here, I worked closely with our CEO a.i, a partner at BCG in Sandton, who gave me fresh insight into how to problem-solve, communicate and lead effectively in the business world. These invaluable learnings have guided my decision-making process in setting up my own ventures, organisations and cases. Show less
