  Undergraduate research assistant

  Used Facebook Ad Archive to monitor political advertisements before and after the 2018 midterm elections. The primary goal of the research is to identify any voter suppression tactics used by politicians or other hostile actors to discourage people from voting. We also kept close note of any disinformation campaigns aimed at political candidates at the state and national level. Ultimately, the hope is to uncover ways to strengthen election ad security and regulations, and inform the general public as well as legislators that when used maliciously and recklessly, political advertisements on Facebook and Twitter can have a staggering impact on elections.
