  This study Focus into the critical domain of environmental legislation, aiming to provide comprehensive insights into the various Acts, rules, and notifications that govern industries environmental compliance. The research specifically centres around the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Notification of 2006, along with its subsequent amendments, as a pivotal regulatory framework for industries operating in environmentally sensitive areas. With a focus on legal complianc e, the study undertakes the task of identifying the essential documentation required for industries to operate within the bounds of environmental laws. This includes half yearly reports, annual reports, renewal of Authorization and consent, EC when any change in industrial activity, getting licences necessary to ensure adherence to environmental regulations. The Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MOEF&CC) and the central and state pollution control boards play crucial roles in setting and enforcing environmental standards, issuing licenses, and conducting compliance checks. Furthermore, the study incorporates the Environmental Impact Reduction System adopted by KRIBHCO (Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited), a prominent industry player. This system, designed to reduce the environmental footprint of their operations, serves as a valuable case study, offering valuable lessons and best practices for other industries seeking to enhance their sustainability efforts.
