Due to the demand of Occupational Health Nurses in the country as the construction firm booms, the company ventured into providing nurses licensed by the Supreme Council of Health Qatar to construction firms as third party. On 2015, Roya Medical and Nursing Services was founded which basically functions as provider of Licensed Nurses and Physicians to construction firms, power plants etc. under the umbrella of Al Shefa Polyclinic. Responsibilities:• Assigned to different construction sites as part of the medical and safety team and helped improve the health and well-being of the workers and staff by regularly monitoring their physical, emotional and mental status as they work.• Assists the site doctor in coordination with the safety team during emergencies, which offers a huge help for early diagnosis and treatment of the patient.• Conducts regular medical screening for all the incoming staff and construction workers, which contributes a lot for the reduction of accidents, work and non- work related illnesses.• Conducts and records regular monitoring for patients with known hypertension, diabetes mellitus, etc., and assures that he is taking his medication/maintenance on a regular basis in accordance to the physician’s prescription that helps minimize the risk of a medical emergency.• Assesses the patient and conducts comprehensive medical history before referring him to the doctor for further evaluation and treatment.• Administers medications as per doctor’s order.• Conducts regular toolbox talk/health teachings to workers regarding certain illnesses (ex: heart attack, heat stress etc.) that can arise during extreme weather conditions which enables them to be aware of the signs and symptoms and to react properly during such situations.
