This included the development of statistical models, tests and their implementation within automated pipelines using Python, R and Matlab. I was solely responsible for a genomic dataset of over 1000 individuals, including provisioning of this data to other research groups, so have a strong understanding of the associated data protection protocols and procedures.I have been a member of several international and multi-discipline collaborations, including working with the Oxford Drug Discovery Institute and the University of Cardiff.I was selected to present my research at the Genetic Epidemiology of Parkinson’s Disease Conference at the University of Luxembourg and the Cohorts and Genetics Meeting at the University of Tubingen. • McDonald's

      Jul 2008 - Jul 2013
      Crew Trainer

During my employment with McDonald’s I was noted as having leadership potential and chosen to undertake further training to become a Crew Trainer. This involved a number of online tests in addition to practical tasks. I was then responsible for assessing the training needs of all crew members and developing their training plans to include on the job training and preparing them for more formal training events. This required effective communication with other crew members and shift managers to ensure resource availability without affecting training progression Show less

    • University of Bristol Swimming and Waterpolo Club

      Apr 2011 - Apr 2012
      Treasurer

I was responsible for budgeting over £6000 and ensuring all necessary paperwork and procedures were completed both by me and other members of the club. The accounts were all audited by the University Student's Union for their charities status, and the finance records I supplied passed this with flying colours.

    • University of Bristol Pole Dance Society

      Vice President

I worked with the President to organise sponsorship, publicity, administration, and ensure the successful day-to-day running of the society. Key to this role was maintaining communication between members of the society through emails and social media, the Student's Union and dance school. I was also responsible for managing the society's audited bank accounts, totalling around £2000, and the associated budgeting and legal procedures.

    • Oxford University Officers Training Corps

      Oct 2013 - now

After completing Module 2 exams I was chosen for promotion to Junior Under Officer. This gave me responsibility for introducing eight new students to the unit and ensuring their ongoing wellbeing. During practical military exercises I fulfilled a leadership role with this group, requiring fast and logical decision making under pressure, followed by the organisation and delegation of individuals to complete the task. I was also responsible for tracking their attendance and training needs. The following year I was again promoted to Platoon Sergeant of the second year students, fulfilling a similar role for over 30 individuals. Show less

After just a year playing waterpolo I was elected to be Captain of the Oxford University Women’s Waterpolo team. This involved ongoing organisation of training sessions and coaching, arranging BUCS and Upolo league matches and associated transport, and ensuring the physical and psychological wellbeing of all students. I was also responsible for leading and motivating the team during training and matches. All of this I managed successfully despite injuring my knee and being unable to play. • Skiworld Ltd

      Dec 2016 - Apr 2017
      Chalet Host

As the only host of a 12 bed superior chalet I was solely responsible for every aspect of it’s day-to-day running, including cleaning, basic maintenance and cooking breakfast, afternoon tea and a four course evening meal. With such a large number of daily tasks time management was critical, and my organisational and multi-tasking skills improved rapidly as a result. I was also responsible for food ordering, requiring meticulous planning to keep the chalet under budget whilst ensuring any dietary requirements were met. Working in an open plan kitchen/dining area meant that I was required to socialise and communicate with guests at all times. Show less
