Created databases and coded for different reports in personnel record keeping for Pilots and ground defence personal . Developed an application to maintain records for counter insurgency operations . and also worked to develp a stastical analysis application for proberble threats and vulnerable individuals associating known suspects.   Developed a complete Aircraft maintenance scheduling program with a small team of 3 amateure developpers for all the flying squadrens of the air force . quite a successful application which was used quite extensively at the time developped using dbaseIII and clipper . Developped ann application for the Quality assurance Inspectorate to maintain their servicing scedules of different types of military aircrafts

  This was an additional responsibility along side IT work I enjoyed so much . Worked with Many International government organisations on this role . to bring in the Technology to Sri Lanka worked with High resolution Satellite images , developed filters and algorithms for changed detection and small object recognition . Was able to contribute to the country by involving in research work with local universities.

  Was the Head of Information Technology for the whole of the Sri Lanka Airforce . Was responsible for projects to import computer spares in bulk and assemble computers to be given on hire purchase to Airforce personal . the objective was to improve IT literacy within the organization (this was funded by the Airforce welfare fund and a total of around 1000 computers were assembled.Installed the first Internet connection for the Airforce , and Intra - mail system , The Completing the WAN infrastructure that was started before me , Design and commence work on the Network for the new 19 floor Headquarters building (left the airforce before completion). Implemented Remote access to Internet for Air force personal from their homes within the bases. designed and implemented to transfer still Images from the Unmanned Arial vehicles to Operational units. was Instrumental in issuing Digital Printed ID cards for Air Force personnel. Arranged Training programs in IT for Airforce personal. Created a Modern IT division for the time with Hardware Engineering, Software Development and Network engineering Departments, Installed three Tier electronic Perimeter security for a number of Airbases (CCTV , motion Detection and tension change detection for Barb wire fencing. for was trained in many countries in several disciplines.   Was Empolyeed as the IT manager for Amsafe Bridports brand new manufacturing plant in sri Lanka . Installed the IT infrastructure including the Email system using Microsoft Exchange 2003 and a domain with security . Created a site to site VPN to the main site in the UK . this enables the Engineering team to work without interruptions . Also Istalled Voice over IP using Multitecc MVP410 devices to connect all their sites . This enables them to have free calls between sites.   Was promoted as the Global manager IT and TelecommunicationsResponsible for IT and Telecommunications for all ASB sites in UK, USA, Sri Lanka, China and Technical consultant for Nordisk Aviation products sites in Norway , USA, China, Hong Kong & Singapore, heading a team of 22 engineers and IT professionals around the worldMajor projects during this time areCreating and developping a Team of software, systems and Networking professionals in sri lanka to support Any IT or Telecommunication task in the BusinessManaging the design , development and implementation of a Aircraft spare sales system for a sister company - this Application won an award for the Best in house developped application awarded by the British computer sociatyInstalled a single Domain and a replicated Email system for the Business Technical Project manager for the implimentation of Syteline Multisite ERP system . The application was rolled out In three Countries and 4 Sites Completely managed the IT system carve out of Nordisk Aviation Products , Norway when they were bought by our owning company . All sites in Norway, China, USA, Hong Kong and Singapore were Carved out and connected through MPLS Designed IT Infrastructure for a 8000 Squre meter Factory building in China , and Managed through till completion and going live ahead of schedule Managed complete new infrastructure installations from laying cables to going in to live operations for over 04 Amsafe Bridport sites using the internal team of IT staffManaged Installation of a NEW PABX system for Bridport site The Next phase is to i USE small community networks and establish a single telephoney system throughout the businessManaged Amsafe Bridport Through SOX compliance Managed NIST 800 -171 and DFARS compliance for Amsafe Bridport Currently working installing IT infrastructure on a 6000 squre meter buildig at an Amsafe Bidport facility . This will include a new PABX system Show less After the acquisition of Bridport Aviation by Amsafe Aviation, was retained seconded to the Amsafe Bridport (formerly Bridport Aviation) office in Bridport UK to head IT departments in Europe and Asia. Designed and Implemented a Polycom Video conferancing system.Creating the IT network for a global sales and finance Back office facility in Colombo. Installing a network for a brand new manufacturing facility in Kunshan China and Installing a complete network for a sister compamy in Horsham United Kingdom. I was also Managing the dayto day IT routine of all these sites with a small team.
