  I was tasked with regulating the score of rep basketball games, through a variety of different age groups and skill levels. The job included score keeping, stat keeping (players), and time management. The job specifically targeted my ability to make quick decisions, communicate with players and the officals alike, and most importantly to make sure the game ran smoothly, while obtaining the proper statistical results (score, player stats).

  Refereering under-35 (U35) mens league games highlighted my decision making and situational awareness in hectic environments. The job included regulating players and their behaviour, calling incidents on the field (fouls, offsides, corners, goals), checking player numbers and equipment before games, and making sure I was in the specific physical condition to maintain myself for the whole 90 minutes. Furthermore, preparation was key in this role, as I had to ensure my equipment (whistle, watch, uniform) was ready for weekly games, as well as the field itself (field lines were visible, game ball was sufficiently pumped, nets were in good condition).   I was recruited as an assistant coach for the under-11 (U11) Oak Ridges rep soccer team. Work involved the evaluation of players and their performance in practice/games, training (fitness, ball mastery, tactical knowledge), preparation for weekly games, and offering support/innovative ideas to the head coach.
