      Aircraft Senior Flight Systems Engineer

A subject matter expert conducting critical desk-top based hazard evaluation and risk analysis with comprehensive integrated advice on airworthiness of mechanical systems. The advice provides inputs to military aircraft Release to Service for the UK MQ-9 Reaper UAV, Watchkeeper UAV, C 130J, Sentinel aircraft. Flying control and hydraulic systems evaluation for the Release to Service of the RC-135W Airseeker SIGNIT (US Rivet Joint), The work requires the assessment of the platform and associated systems requiring a high level of knowledge of mechanical system design and intergration. The airworthiness aspect is required for determining compliance with applicable equipment performance standards for environmental safety and integrity in accordance with the requirements laid down in MIL-HDBK-516, MiIL-STD-810, DO-160, EASA ED-14G and all UK Defence Standards. Serving as the Trials liaison engineer within, A Flight, 206 (R) Squadron, who specialize in the A400M flight testing development programme. Coordinate and monitor tests prior to and during customer acceptance events in conjunction with QinetiQ ATEC engineers and A400M test pilots. The role also involves Flight Operations scheduling of Airbus allocated aircraft; and the programing of A400M evaluation pilots and test pilots required to perform the various capability development trials Show less Ageing Aircraft Audit (AAA) TeamProviding independent assurance to the UK military aircraft Airworthiness Authorities that all age related problems have been identified, predicted and mitigated prior to their having a major impact on airworthiness, safety, capability or cost of ownership, and that the aircraft can continue to operate without an increase in risk to the platform or individuals. The ageing audit reviews the structural integrity, systems integrity and propulsion integrity of their aircraft at the 15 year point after the declared in service date, and every 10 years thereafter. The evidence collated verifies the effectiveness of the maintenance and documentation systems in use and whether they are appropriately managed in accordance with MAA airworthiness requirements. The work involves:The objective examination of all procedures, management processes technical information and documentation related to the platform, to ascertain that the supporting management processes for airworthiness, integrity and functionality are effective. Undertake detailed independent physical examinations of 10% of the representative aircraft fleet in order to assess that its condition accurately reflects the current as flown state of the platform declared in the aircraft document set, and that age related problems have been identified and recorded using the current maintenance processes. To date, I have performed condition surveys and documentation audits on, Hawk T Mk1, C130J and C17 Globemaster III. The role also affords lead technical advisor and competency for all Propulsion System auditing. Show less
