  Current position: EPC Services Supervisor & Principal Process EngineerMultiple supervisory and individual contributor/technical subject matter expert roles.Support and oversee various aspects of process design from concept, through FEED and EPC phases for all COP Optimized Cascade Process Licensed projects. My teams & I have been focused on executing EPC engineering work & deliverables (in addition to portions of FEED).Over the years, spent considerable time improving various aspects of liquefaction facilities with particular emphasis regarding nitrogen rejection units, heavies removal units and design & performance of overall liquefaction trains. Provided concepts and led efforts to implement both physical and software load balancing tools into liquefaction trains over the past decade and a half to fully utilize installed available power and maximize LNG production.My teams and I have focused on aspects of availability enhancement, regarding improving control aspects of facilities to minimize downtime and increase the working life of critical equipment. These efforts have included the creation and use of rigorous dynamic modelling tools in combination with utilizing fundamentally sound process control aspects.Contributed heavily to the creation and implementation of a quality process design package associated with the OCP, which is utilized for all new associated projects. My team and I are tasked with maintaining and improving this design package, as required.I worked as COP LNG Technology's sole engineering representative & technical SME during the commissioning and start-up phase for QCLNG, GLNG, APLNG, WSLNG, SPLNG and CCLNG. Responsible for trouble shooting, control system item resolution, train performance aspects regarding implementation of critical load balancing features and subsequent training of personnel. My team and I provide CSU and operational support for new OCP trains, training and technical service support for existing Licensee's. Show less Lead Process Engineer for Bohai Phase II FPSO Peng Bo/Hai Yang Shi Yu 117 following AFE approval & the end of conceptual phase, through detailed design & the EPC phase including commissioning, start-up through to hand over of the facility.Located in Sugar Land, TX (Fluor) during detailed engineering, later transitioning to Singapore (SMOE) during construction & onshore commissioning for 2 years, followed by the final nine months living in Tangu, China splitting time between onshore and offshore in support of offshore commissioning and start-up efforts.Highlights included overseeing and executing detailed process design efforts for the largest FPSO designed & built at the time. At the forefront was a complete redesign of the solids removal/handling systems associated with a late design basis change. Managing/resolving interface related design issues between the Topsides, Hull and Mooring Tower teams regarding shared process and utility systems was a critical part of this effort, in addition to working with other engineering disciplines, multiple engineering contractors involved in the project and other groups within the greater project team (HSE, Procurement, Operations, Construction, Commissioning, etc.). I was delegated the FPSO Topsides Engineering Manager's responsibilities in Sugar Land for approximately a year and a half as he transitioned early to Singapore to support construction and topsides/hull integration activities.In Singapore, worked to resolve carry over detailed engineering items, supported quayside commissioning activities, mitigated technical issues arising through commissioning and developed the FPSO start-up philosophy and associated offshore start-up procedures. Once procedures were in place, I provided training for all operations personnel regarding the execution of the plan and procedures. In China, I led offshore efforts regarding execution of the start-up plan & procedures & resolved technical & operational issues. Show less Process Design Engineer during conceptual engineering for the Bohai Phase II assets. This project developed the largest offshore oil field in China. It included the construction of five WHP's, subsea pipelines, central riser/utility platform, turret type Mooring Tower and what was the largest FPSO (Peng Bo/Hai Yang Shi Yu 117) designed and constructed, at the time and for several years following the project. Role was located in Fluor offices in Sugar Land, TX.This project was unique in many technical aspects, including the utilization of high gravity mechanical separation processes to remove water from oil, oil from water and solids material from produced water. The heavy crude associated with the asset was high TAN, leading to issues and the need to control pH to suppress and control napthenic components. In the early phases, considerable amounts of solids were produced leading to unique attributes in the design of the produced water and solids removal & handling systems. The power infrastructure was also unique regarding load sharing, shedding and overall power management necessary to support facility electrical loads in addition to the considerable number of ESP's utilized throughout the field.The project leaned heavily on both internal and external subject matter experts to mitigate risk associated with various technical challenges and particularly with regard to flow assurance. It was invaluable to me at the time to be able to learn from these SME's and to coordinate some of the critical design efforts. Show less Plant Process & Facility Engineer for the Acadia Gas Plant, an 80MMSCFD conventional expander plant located in Egan, Louisiana. Managed small project efforts and engineering on various in plant & pipeline construction projects in and around Lake Charles & Westlake area as well as pipeline facility upgrade projects.This role was rewarding regarding the ability to develop projects from the initial business case through construction & start-up. Particularly in working with the commercial organization, managing construction contractors, putting together bid packages and contracts, overseeing procurement while performing and delivering the engineering work & deliverables associated with the various projects.
