  Primary tasks as the Health and Safety Rep for the TO2015 games are to ensure the various contractors working on various Pan Am/Parapan Am games are compliant with OHSA and TO2015 site safety requirements. Providing site inductions so that the contractors know site specific emergency procedures, health and safety rules, harassment/discrimination and enforcement policies. reviewing, checking, and filing contractors reports, such as weekly site safety inspection, weekly safety meeting minutes, mobile equipment inspections, daily JSA reports, employee certifications (are up to date), and liasonning with other event staff, employees and dignitaries. The best part of this job is being able to meet other workers from other countries. In my role as the Health and Safety Representative, I get to educate, inform, and sometimes teach our foreign workers the high standards we Canadians have grown to trust. By being open and understanding, but never compromising on safety, solutions to issues are resolved in respectful and courteous manners. Show less
