Considered one of the most photographed landscapes in the world, The Wave is a design of sandstone hallways set in a palette of some of the most defining colors of nature, created by the forces of wind and water, and lots of time.•… Show more • The 'Jurassic Camp House' competition, organized by Archasm Competitions, was open to everyone and received 129 proposals from all over the world.• The Wave is a sandstone rock formation on the slopes of Coyote Buttes near the Arizona-Utah border in the US. Considered one of the most photographed landscapes in the world, The Wave is a design of sandstone hallways set in a palette of some of the most defining colors of nature, created by the forces of wind and water, and lots of time.• The competition brief required the participants to design a shelter structure in the heart of the Wave. It asked for the design of a free-standing resting/camping structure that would give hikers/photographers new ways to spend more time, experience nature, and rest after long hiking expeditions. The proposal was required to create a dialogue between man and nature through architecture and be a 'zone of contemplation' that would transcend the visitors' olfactory, tactile and visual experiences.
