  I was responsible for providing monitoring and evaluation as well as quality assurance and improvement support to FHI’s programs. This involves leadership for the design and implementation of baseline assessments to inform the design of HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment and support programs and OVC care. This also involves leading monitoring and evaluation of programs at health centre and community levels. I am involved in analyzing, synthesizing, documenting (database management) and presenting results of epidemiological and behavioral research in the field of HIV/AIDS and OVC care.I have also involved in three operational researches.In FHI, I was involved in the research conducted in Behavioral Changeo Communication (BCC) formative assessment in HIV/AIDS most at risk population.o I have taken part in the research which focused on “understanding care options for children in Ethiopia through understanding and preventing institutionalization”o Conducted an operations research on the “Acceptability and Willingness to pay for PUR product in Household affected by HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia.”In the aforementioned studies I have fully participated in proposal development, developing data collection tool, data collectors training, data collection, analysis of the findings, dissemination of the findings and action plan development.I have participated - As a national task force member at Federal MOH on Family Planning policy guide development.   Working on HIV program supportAs M&E Advisor I was key member of I-TECH-Ethiopia’s M&E team. I support the M&E team to provide a fully-functioning monitoring and evaluation system in support of I-TECH’s work in health care facilities. I work closely with program heads and technical teams to assure program activities are in line with expected programmatic deliverable. I oversee the collection and analysis of data and provide recommendations to staff using data for programmatic decision-making. I provide M&E support to regional facilities to improve capacity to respond to the national M&E plan.Responsibilities: • Provide direct support to M&E team, including direct supervision of monitoring and evaluation staff. • Provide technical and programmatic support to M&E Director, and guidance/technical support to regional planning and monitoring coordinators, regional data managers, information mentors, facility information technicians and facility data clerks.• Provide technical leadership and guidance in the development and implementation of an M&E framework, and the monitoring system used for tracking I-TECH’s clinical and programmatic activities, including those of the clinical mentoring team. • Lead M&E related “special projects” ; this includes public health evaluations (PHE) and operational research (OR).• Led all phases of PHE and OR including: design or protocol development; data collection; analysis; and publication/presentation• Serve as the focal point for receipt of data that will be used for targeted public health evaluation projects from I-TECH Ethiopia’s focus regions• Support field teams, and other ITECH technical staff, in developing ideas for targeted public health evaluations or operational research projects by using already existing site-level data or newly collected data as appropriate • Reviewed all abstracts submitted internally, provide feedback, and facilitate the development of a scientific agenda and review committee for I-TECH Ethiopia Show less

Identify strengths and weaknesses in relation to the M&E system and methodologies proposed to be applied by the PR; and key risk areas for successful program implementation 2. Study in depth all related documentation and information, implementation modalities and work plans proposed by the PR as well as obtain additional background information from relevant donor organizations on the performance record of the PR in terms of M&E activities3. Based on the Preliminary PR Profile, I drafted and submitted a preliminary assessment report proposing to the GF specific areas.i) Developing a plan and timeframe for the focused on-site assessment; ii) Undertake the focused on-site assessment of the PR’s M&E system iii) Formulate the assessment conclusions and recommendations to the GF in the final assessment report in the area of M&E and data collection highlighting identified strengths and weaknesses.4. Verification of Implementation Performance i) Meet regularly with the PR and programme stakeholders to verify performance indicators data ; ii) Regularly review the disbursement requests in relation to the agreed performance targets and recommend to the GF; iii) Perform site visits to the PRs, SRs and program sites to confirm the reports of grant implementation. v) Bring all significant performance and data management related problems to the immediate attention .5.
