      Honorable Mention AIChE Student Desgin Michigan State University May 2013 My design partner and I were awarded honorable mention in the 2013 AIChE Student Design Competition. The 2013 design challenge was to design and compare two parallel systems to convert biomass into biofuels. The two designs compared used pyrolysis and gasification from a coal fed gasifier. The two designs were compared and we made recommendation based off of an cost analysis.
