    • Aramark Refreshment Services

      Oct 2015 - Apr 2016
      Food Production Worker

My first job was doing line prep, specifically for the salad and deli station in Jennings Dining Hall. This work required that I safely, and quickly, wash, cut, and store vegetables, meats, and condiments. I worked as a server for small (6 people) and large (500 people) venues that ranged in grandeur. I was also trained to work the point of sales machine and counted the float at the end of the shift with the manager.

    • Upper Miramichi Community Library

      Jun 2016 - Aug 2016
      Literacy Tutor

This was the first job where I had creative control, as it was entirely up to me to develop reading plans for the students that I was working with. Each student received their own customized lesson plan that best suited their needs. Students in the program ranged from 5 to 12 years old and were each offered free, one-on-one, hour-long sessions, once or twice a week depending on how much practice they needed. The hands-on activities that I created captivated the students and made learning more enjoyable. Show less

    • Aramark Refreshment Services

      Aug 2016 - Feb 2020
      Student Manager

Working for Aramark was a seasonal job that I held while studying at Mount Allison University (therefore I was not employed by this establishment between May and mid-August each year). The work that I did ranged from 6 to 500 people venues, and I typically held the role of supervisor. When new employees would begin working at Jennings Dining Hall, it was my job to train them, therefore I had to know how each food station operated, including industrial kitchen appliances (ovens, mixers, the dishwasher, etc.) and be able to clearly answer any employee's questions. Typically I would be the closing manager for the shift, and so if an employee called in sick for the next day or current shift, it was my job to reschedule and fill the position. At the end of the night I would close and locked up the building, which included ringing off the cash and counting the float. Work was to be completed and the kitchen was in order by the end of the shift. Show less

    • Central New Brunswick Woodmen`s Museum

      Jun 2017 - Aug 2017
      Tour Guide and Promotions

As a tour guide, I would lead groups of up to 25 around the museum site and provide tourists with an inside look at the forestry and lumber industry of New Brunswick. Additionally, the museum served as a Visitor Information Center meaning that I answered many questions about the surround businesses and accommodations. This job gave me the opportunity to advance my technological skills and I became proficient with GIMP, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, and Mac Movie Maker software. By the end of the summer I had created a new brochure for the museum (which got sent out to other VICs in NB), made many posters and promotional videos of the Professional Lumberjack Competition. This was the summer that central New Brunswick was hit with a rather powerful hurricane, and so part of my summer was spent physically laboring on the museum grounds to clean up major damages and fallen trees. Apr 2018 - May 2020

Within the Office of Experiential Learning and Career Development at Mount Allison University my post-graduate internship focused on helping current students obtain work integrated learning experiences. Through media and interpersonal outreach, I promoted hands on learning that emphasized reflection, conceptualization and connections for students. I created a booking platform for the office so that students could easily pick times to meet one-on-one with the three interns within the office. The mta.ca/expl website was one that I became very familiar with, and would specifically keep the 'Job Board' for students and recent graduates up to date. My role in this office was comparable to a pilot project, and it required a lot of creativity, listening to the needs of students, and problem solving capabilities, as there was no manual or model to reference. • Central New Brunswick Woodmen's Museum

      May 2020 - Aug 2020
      Marketing Assistant

I took on the challenging role of marketing a tourist destination in the midst of a pandemic by creating a social media presence that this museum had never attempted before. I developed a routine of engaging posts (Woodsmen Wednesday, Fun Fact Friday, Support Local Sunday) that were successful in increasing the museum's number of followers and likes (on both Facebook and Instagram). These new ways of safely and effectively connecting with the public allowed this non-profit, charitable organization to raise mandatory operating funds. I customized logos and promotions using advanced editing software, as well as restructured the organization’s website (using WordPress and MCG Media). My favourite part of the job was collecting information about local and provincial items, people, organizations, etc. for the purpose of increasing the following online and encourage tourism to the Boiestown area (#staycation). • Tantramar COVID-19 Task Force

      Sept 2020 - Aug 2021
      Volunteer and Communications Coordinator

The Tantramar COVID-19 Task Force was created to identify critical needs and provide support for residents during the global pandemic. The coordinator role for the Task Force requires that I am extremely organized as I am working amongst a group of 200+ volunteers. My knowledge about social media and my strong communications skills have been a great asset when creating content, designing flyers for print and distribution, directing community concerns to helpful resources, and assisting with overall needs of the Task Force. One of my favourite projects that I have led (I developed a budget, applied for grants, organized volunteers, etc.) has been our "Save Halloween" initiative. We successfully created 1,360 treat bags and delivered them to all K-12 age students in the Tantramar region, as well as held a virtual "Costume and Mask Decorating Competition". Show less

    • Tantramar Heritage Trust

      Jun 2021 - Aug 2021
      Crake Community Programming Intern

The Tantramar Heritage Trust has two museum sites in Sackville, New Brunswick. My duties as the Crake Intern were to develop, organize and advertise events that fostered community. In addition to event development, I also took care of general promotions of the two locations online (Facebook, Instagram, and WordPress). An aspect of this position that I enjoyed thoroughly was guiding tourists through the Boultenhouse Heritage Centre and the Campbell Carriage Factory Museum. Meeting the tourists and getting to share stories with them and discover connections that they shared with Sackville's history meant that I was learning something new each day. Show less
