  Based in Mumbai, iStudio architecture is a collaboration of young architects, open to experiments and innovation in architecture and design. Refusing to cater to any typology of architecture, iStudio architecture strives to respond to each project contextually be it clients requirements or site demands. Thus considering project circumstances, the firm gets involved in all aspects of the project- design, costing, selection of contractors, site execution and site supervision.We believe that architecture has an essential impact on every aspect of society and must be used responsibly. Each partner, having a background of alternative technologies and study of traditional methods and materials, contributes to the firm ideology and design with his or own experience. Experimentation in combining traditional methods of construction with innovations in technology gives our structures a rootedness in the local context, yet manifests a contemporary spirit in its interpretation. The levels of interaction between the client, the architects and the contractors vary in each project as per the client's requirements, demands, needs and budget. We aim to combine each aspect and present the client a design with complete solutions and possibilities.Each partner approaches the projects with a different attitude and tackles design issues as per his or her priority resulting in more comprehensive and resolved design solution. The role of each partner changes for each site. Each project goes through vigorous discussions and design sessions. The final product is the result of different approaches evolved into a design.   Design Stories is a design studio from Mumbai. We believe that each project is a unique storyline with its own twists and turns. The practice is experimental and focuses on small details along with the larger story. Design is fun-n-play and need not be serious all the time. We approach projects with unique design solutions and do not always fall into the realm of a typical category of design. We understand the thought process of the client, the larger goal and needs of the project, the lifestyle and cycle of the project before starting the process of designing the project. The design solutions are given intricate thought to understand the best fit for the project and are not one-design-fits-all solutions for any project. We focus on more ecological practices and sustainable thinking in design where we look at the potential health benefits and ecological impact of greener design solutions and encourage the idea of embracing better environmental practices.   Shriya Parasrampuria is the co-founder and principal architect of Blurring Boundaries | architecture & interior, a design practice in Mumbai, engaged in creating contextual and appropriate design solutions. She is a 2007 graduate from Sir JJ College of architecture and has had an architectural practice for more than 12 years. She has worked on a plethora of residential projects, schools, villas, and restaurants, with ecological materials and techniques. Shriya has had a chance to explore different materials along with different technologies in architecture and interior in the span of her career. She has found a balance in working from the scale of designing the minute intricacies of detailing to the larger planning of site and buildings. She connects with the user in depth and imbibes their values into the design from the beginning. Show less
