I started in my junior year of high school and was promoted to Key Manager by graduation. I started as a delivery driver, and later was hired as a line cook, where I learned the definition of a ‘a long day’s work’. As a full-time college student, I worked three twelve hours shifts a week in addition to working at my school’s media services.

  When I produced a promotional trailer for a science communication workshop called Science Riot, I rented equipment, shot performers and performances, and edited together a the trailer featuring a behind the scenes look at how various scientists prepare to teach a crowd something funny from their field.

  On the broadcast team, I operated live cameras from different positions at various sporting events. When not at a camera, I worked in the broadcast van making graphics for live broadcast. Outside of sports, I assisted interviews with athletes and administration by micing and/or lighting talent. Additional duties included editing graduation ceremonies with Adobe software, organizing and packing equipment , and general production assistance.

  As a lead server, I supervised teams of eight servers, designated tasks, and accomplished opening and closing procedures in a set amount of time. Leading and communicating with so many people at once has fortified my interpersonal communication and ability to focus under pressure.
