  Recruited to lead team to develop from the ground up a custom Laboratory Information System for a regional reference laboratory. This included understanding the system requirements, writing design documentation, validation testing, instrument interfaces, and numerous EDI/HL7 interfaces with hospitals, reference laboratories and physician office EMRs. The application delivered a remote access ordering and results portal, animal reference ranges for veterinary testing, FDA regulated Clinical Trials module, and a custom rules engine allowing for creative, complex, and integrated solutions for our customers. Directed team of 15 including Help Desk, Network & Systems Engineers, Software Developers, Application Specialists, HL7 Interface/Integration team, Clinical Trials SAS programmers/data analysts. Our team successfully refreshed our computing, SAN, firewalls, email encryption, web filtering, virtualization, and backup solution and moved to a new state of the art data center in 2013 which included contract negotiation and vendor management.
