    • Vale Fest

      Sept 2016 - Jun 2018

After completing my role as Head of Social Media for ValeFest 2017 I ran for the position of Vice-Chair for ValeFest 2018 and was successful. The role involved co-managing a group of over 40 members to organise every aspect of Europe's largest student-run charity festival. I attended numerous meetings every week with fellow students, heads of University departments and external companies to ensure that the festival would run as smoothly as possible. ValeFest 2018 was a massive success, it was our first year selling out tickets before the day of the festival and encompassed the biggest line-up ValeFest has ever seen. Throughout the year I dealt with major problems with our budget and worked in a small team to secure enough funding to allow us to donate as much money to charity as possible. On the day I worked as the Deputy Festival Manager alongside the Festival Manager to efficiently solve problems with security, festival goers and committee members to ensure the festival went off without a hitch. ValeFest 2018 aimed to raise as much money for homelessness charities ShelterBox and SifaFireside as possible, in the end we were able to donate over £41,000 split between the two charities.
