111 Development Project Manager, Care Connect

Care Connect is a new way to talk to the NHS, whether you want to report a problem, share your experience or ask a question. The service is designed around the key NHS England principles of transparency and participation, and is currently being trialed with hospital Trusts in parts of London and North-east England.Care Connect guides patient feedback to the right part of the NHS in real time, with governance in place to ensure that the provider responds where required - and that actual patient experience drives service improvement. The pilot is being closely monitored to ensure that, when the time is right, integration with other services is robust and effective. The focus of my role was to assure NHS Direct's case handling service design and delivery (completely separate from 111), and project manage the first 'whole system' pilot with Kingston CCG and Local Authority. Project Manager and DoS Lead, Healthy London Partnership

Areas of focus:1) Step-change development of the London Directory of Services (DoS) through the profiling of clinical search terms to support priority referral pathways (outside NHS 111). This includes an innovative approach to engaging hundreds of stakeholders across London to nominate great and not-so-great referral experiences.2) Improving the NHS 111 patient experience for urgent dental problems, a range of pharmacy needs and, in response to the Crisis Care Concordat, mental health crisis.Nov 2014-Mar 2015: My previous interim role was with NHS England - London on their NHS 111 Winter Resilience Programme, where we delivered a range of workstreams to make NHS 111 and other Urgent and Emergency Care services as robust as possible. Some workstreams are being evaluated under Phase 2 of the NHS 111 Learning & Development Programme.Mar 2014- Oct 2014: I was part of the Phase 1 NHS 111 Learning & Development Programme team, working on a range of pilots to inform 111 Futures. In particular I supported the two innovative Digital pilots, Access to Records and Web Access. Dec 2013-Aug 2015: I worked with commissioners, providers and clinical leads at Cambridgeshire & Peterborough CCG, to maintain and develop its DoS to support NHS 111 (go-live in Nov 2013).I have previously supported NHS 111 pilot go-lives in South-West London, North Central London and South-East London, so understand the NHS 111 planning and mobilisation process. As well as developing DoS-related strategy and plans, I enjoy engaging with stakeholders to understand the NHS 111 patient journey and start the process of improving DoS referral outcomes. Show less

I work with colleagues at NHS Digital and NHS England and a wide range of stakeholders across health and social care and digital technologies, making sure we're delivering access to service information to support 'right care, first time' in the NHS.
