      -
Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) Electrical and Electronics Engineering 3.0
  • Experience

    • MAGNA Drive Automotive

      Sept 2005 - May 2008
      Robotic Technician

Technical Leader for supporting ABB Robotics working with engineering and production teams to ensure product quality and increase in production.

    • GE Gas Turbine

      May 2008 - Nov 2010
      Program Manager/Fleet Support Engineer

Program Manager - Responsible for overall performance, development and integration of NPI technologies into their respective machine families. Conducted component and system level trade studies to identify product and technology improvement opportunities that optimized overall wind turbine customer value and operating characteristics. Focused on integrating design changes smoothly into production to insure deliverable(s) meet business needs. As a Program Manager, I Led NPI/CM&U programs requirements specified in PRD and completed the Series Compensation Acceptance Test (Series Comp requisition complete) to close out SSI contract with NextEra Energy. Met the budgetary requirement for NPI/CM&U programs Led NPI/CM&U effort (NPI-TG2 and CM&U - DDR) in contributions and achieving success in the development and field demonstration of the series compensation solution.Fleet Support Eng. - Led RCA projects that maximize wind turbine safety, improved fleet reliability and reduced turbine trip rate. Analyzed electrical turbine data and examined turbine components to identify issues discovered by root cause analysis. Developed and implemented electrical corrective actions including turbine re-design or functional/operational changes. Expertise in all electrical engineering disciplines that are applicable on projects at the component-level or system-level. Experienced working with other GE functions such as Product Service, Field Operations and Sourcing Site visits, turbine climbs and customer impact. As a Fleet Support Engineer I led to 5% - 15% reduction of parts replacement for the SSB Pitch controller with a Troubleshooting Guide for Field Technicians to increase turbine availability. Removal of the EM 190 fault increased the availability of each turbine by ~0.03% and decreased the amount of field visits by an estimated 90%. Dedicated over 480 hours during the 188:1 Retrofit Pitch Gearbox Clarify Case. Show less

    • GE Power & Water

      Nov 2010 - Oct 2014

Led Renewable Product Development by being responsible for the pitch system component level ownership within 1.x, 2.x and offshore wind turbines. Work with internal GE customers to understand business priorities and coordinate deliverable(s) for the electrical engineering team to meet commitments. Proactively work to develop and grow the technical capabilities and reliability of the pitch system product. Work closely with other engineering groups within GE to coordinate interfaces between components. Work with product support team to determine or systems failures and implement corrective actions to meet product reliability goals for customers. Communicate with external consultants and third parties to achieve certification of designs (Germanischer Lloyd, DNV, TUEV, UL, and CSA) Leverage and implement design practices, DFR and DFSS. Provide technical clarification of designs with suppliers, manufacturing and service during prototype phase. Show less Led the Lean Design for Six Sigma effort, focusing on safety (no accidents), cost of quality, issue resolution and on-time delivery. Worked cross-functionally between teams to resolve quality issues and drive long-term quality improvements. Trained, coached, and mentored green belts. Directed Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement projects for the business. Performed data analysis to identify ways to improve quality and reduce COQ cost by 30%. Led Lean Action Work-Outs to promote the quality message, wherever possible both internally and externally. As a Black Belt I managed seven DFSS and DMAIC Greenbelt Employee Projects resulting in a business savings of $14M per year. My personal black belt project resulted in a business savings of $4.3M in cost of quality. Led Six Sigma effort by example. Show less
