    • The Whisky Shop

      Feb 2016 - Nov 2016
      Head Marketing Strategist

The Whisky Shop in San Francisco has the largest selection of whiskies in the United States. The physical shop is based in the heart of San Francisco. While the shop is always busy, and a large number of sales are made on site, the majority of business comes from online orders. As marketing strategist, I was responsible for devising all marketing activities both online and offline. The goal of my strategy was to initially consolidate existing customers, and then expand the customer base nationwide, while ensuring repeat purchases. I achieved these goals using a number of different methods. Consolidating existing customers.- Personalised online customer profiles.- Individual post-purchase follow ups.- Product recommendations based on previous purchases. - Money-Off coupons after a certain amount of purchases. - Personalised emails about upcoming in-store events. Expanding customer base- Facebook ad campaign. - Word of mouth and word of mouse campaigns. (Existing customers were encouraged to spread the word both in person and online. By recommending another customer online through their personal profile they received a money-off coupon. Customers were also encouraged to spread the word by the quality of service they were provided with.)These strategies proved to be very successful, and the customer base steadily grew during my time with the company. In addition to creating the marketing strategy, I was also in charge of designing visual materials such as logos, posters, and signage. As well as this it was my duty to maintain the website, process orders and shipping, and act as an in-store salesperson.Being given this level of responsibility within such a prevalent business was an incredible experience for me. I learned a great deal about the ins-and-outs of running a business from top to bottom. As well as this, I also learned about how to maintain a businesses success, and then gradually grow that success in a sustainable manner. Show less

    • Jobbio

      Feb 2017 - Dec 2017
      Digital Marketing Specialist

Jobbio is an Irish based company, and are one of the fastest growing players in the international jobs industry. I joined as a marketing intern at a time of major expansion in the UK and North American markets, so it really was a full on experience from the beginning. I became part of a team of three, responsible for the entirety of the companies digital marketing efforts. During my initial three month internship I was tasked with admin work, which I was happy to do, but also contributed to the digital marketing strategy that was implemented for international expansion. Following my internship, I was offered a full time position as a digital marketing specialist. In this new role, I was responsible for distributing all jobs that were posted to the site into the correct channels, in order to give each job the greatest likelihood of being seen, as well as applied for. Applications being the name of the game in the jobs industry. I was also responsible for forming direct relationships with various partners who helped to distribute our jobs in as many countries as possible around the world, while working with these partners to ensure that the strategy behind this job distribution was both on budget, and effective. This was a very exciting and challenging role as it required a lot of innovation and flexibility to form a strategy that would fill so many varying positions, in so many different countries, on a very limited budget. It was very satisfying to witness the growth that came about from my work here. This position was a very fruitful one for me in terms of experience. I was given so much responsibility, and tasked with working under constant pressure, in an ever changing environment. I really enjoyed my time at Jobbio, but at the end of the calendar year, I decided it was time for a new challenge, and decided to move to Phnom Penh. I thank Jobbio and all the wonderful people there for all that I learned, both personally and professionally. Show less
