      Reporting to the Vice President, Training, Safety and Recruitment, I'm responsible for developing and implementing strategies to achieve the BCMEA’s vision for health and safety on the waterfront and for providing leadership in the identification and implementation of industry health and safety initiatives.Responsibilities:•Implements and manages the Certificate of Recognition Program (COR) in partnership with WorkSafeBC. •Prepares annual COR operating budget. Tracks, monitors and modifies initiatives as required, ensuring all expenditures meet budget guidelines. Analyzes expenses and prepares cost/benefit evaluations for review by the Vice President, Training, Safety and Recruitment.•Educates employers and auditors on Safety Management System tools and processes, monitors for quality assurance and quality control, and provides training and education on SMS auditing, senior management orientation and injury management.•Chairs the BCMEA COR Technical Advisory Committee. Proposes agenda, describes plan of action relating to COR program activities and the development of training and auditing materials and solicits input from committee members as required. •Supervises the work of the COR Program Coordinator. Provides direction and ensures that work meets appropriate standards.
