  Prof Marx is world renown and serves on the Board of the IChemE Energy Centre in the UK and has won many awards for her dedication towards her research in Chemical Engineering. She is registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa ECSA and has obtained various grants for her research.Up to date, 28 peer reviewed articles in Scientific Journals flowed from her pen and she has delivered 44 conference papers on national and international level. Her main fields of interest includes Bio-energy systems, Hydrothermal liquefaction and Membrane technology. Show less

  The NRF was established through the National Research Foundation Act, following a system-wide review conducted for the Department of Arts, Culture, Science and Technology. The new entity incorporated the functions of the research funding agencies that were previously servicing various sections of the research community, namely the former Centre for Science Development of the Human Sciences Research Council and the former Foundation for Research Development that included several National Research Facilities.As an entity of the Department of Science and Technology, the NRF promotes and supports research through funding, human resource development and the provision of National Research Facilities in all fields of natural and social sciences, humanities and technology. The NRF provides services to the research community especially at Higher Education Institutions and Science Councils, with a view to promote high-level human capital development.
