Mr. Johnson has been engaged in all manner of petroleum pursuits starting with his attachment to the NE Exploration Division Basin Analyst where he researched and acquired deep Appalacian Basin geologic research aimed at new frontiers within the basin. He was tasked with developing a shallow reconnaissance model of the division's 17 county AMI with Texaco, Inc. and provided the developmental scheme for the company's Cherry Hill Field in his last year of employment there. This was a strongy formative experience for him. While there he was exposed the mentoring of an extraordinary class of oil professionals, (i.e. geologists, engineers and land personnel) with wide ranging experience. It was there that he developed an enduring pre-occupation with oil and gas economics which would provide the underpinning of all future endeavors. Show less

    • Cutbank Energy Affiliates, LLC

      Jun 2008 - now
      Owner

Cutbank Energy Affiliates was created for the purpose of conducting the full range of operations and functions related to the creation of, development of and administration of oil and gas developmental prospects originated by the owner. Recent oil and gas activity has focused on portions of central and south central Illinois and ancient carbonate environments. Immediately before that Mr. Johnson was fundamentally responsible for the resolution of numerous "deep" Paleozoic reservoirs along a million acre corridor in western West Virginia where along with affiliated clientele he developed oportunisiic leasehold as drilling feedstock. Reservoir targets there included the deep Point Pleasants fm., the Silurian Newburg and Devonian Oriskany and shallower reservoirs. More recently he has focused on gold prospects in south central Alaska where he has spent several months in the field investigating and documenting placer gold and metalliferous lode occurrences, mostly in the Mulchatna River basin. Still more recently my professional focus has been the solicitation of and purchase of undeveloped mineral reserves and royalty in the Appalachian Basin. This activity has been almost entirely focused on Marcellus minerals with a concentration in southwestern Pennsylvania. This work necessarily incorporates reserve and cash flow modeling, customer sales and relations and sales and salesmanship.Further to that work Mr. Johnson has most recently completed the VLTA's Certified Title Examiner's continuing educational requirement and is a Virginia Certified Title Examiner.
