Managed a field staff of 12 unit serving executives and para-professionals. Achieved Chief Scout Executives Winners Circle in 2000 and 2001. Revitalized summer camp programs and managed record increase in 2000. Managed 3 Urban Districts to balanced growth and quality status. Increased family campaign from $55,183 in 1998 to $73,000 in 2000. Increased total FOS in service area from $95,292 to $119,072. Served as Staff adviser for process section of the New York State Governors Award for Excellence application that the council won in 2000. Taught District Committee course at Philmont Training Center, June 1998. .Balanced growth achiever, Chief Scout Executive’s Winners Circle Awards, and National Quality District recognition in 1996 and 1997. Increased total FOS in district 42.7% from $26,000 to $37,127. Directed nationally renowned Cub Scout Adventure Camp and achieved record increases in attendance and dollars.

In a terrible economic downturn and shrinking economy, managed 7 consecutive years of balanced budgets and reduced inherited long-term debt 26% from (1,115,000) to (825,386) by growing income and strong fiscal management. Highlights include: net Product Sale + 89% ($111,465 to $210,885); Foundation Income +132% ($71,470 to $166,139); net Camping Income +19% ($261,800 to $312,113); net Special Event Income +49% ($72,237 to 107,609).       Area 6 supports 113,720 young men and young women in 10 Boy Scout Councils covering the Southwestern United states, Hawaii, the Pacific Islands, and Asia. In 2017, we Implemented an Area Operating Plan to better coordinate and focus volunteer efforts in support of local councils with great results. 60% of our council grew in total membership. 80% achieved balanced operating budgets, and 70% achieved increases in total net assets. Coordinated multiple joint council planning conferences and training opportunities including an Area wide Fundraising symposium in July 2018 attended by 70 Professionals and Volunteers. Show less
