  Designed and conducted an independent research project in Malawi concerning the interaction between tree use and individual food security. Sixty-two interviews and six focus group discussions were conducted and analyzed using quantitative and qualitative methods. The results were presented in a master's thesis that was awarded the Henry Gilbert Miller prize and the Best Dissertation, MSc Food Security prize.
