My work focuses on two aspects, namely regulatory compliance and sustainability, both targeting the same goal, i.e. to make our plant a safe and environmentally friendly place to work at.- Regulatory Compliance: Closely work with area managers and 3rd-party consultants to meet regulatory compliance requirements. * Manages RCRA compliance: Inspections, training, documentations, etc. * Manages SWPPP permit: Quarterly inspections, monitoring, etc; Annually monitoring and reporting. * Manages air permit; Data collections, compilations and calculations, etc. * Manages industrial pretreatment discharge permit: Oversees on-site wastewater treatment plant; Coordinate with city of Gainesville on wastewater related issues. * Coordinates PSM/RMP programs: Coordinates with area managers on various programs to ensure a sound PSM/RMP program, including PSI, SWIs, PHAs, MOCs, PSSRs, training, etc.- Sustainability: We strives to come up with cost/energy saving and waste reduction ideas and execute them. * Manages the waste streams in the plant, find innovative ways to reduce/reuse/recycle them. One current project is expected to save the plant $200,000 per year. * Energy reduction: Compressed air conservation -- on-going * Wastewater reduction: targeting both hardware and behavioral issues to address wastewater generation -- on-going.
