Not finished Early Childhood Education and Teaching and sociology

I first attended the school going for my bachelor's degree in social work, but ever since I can remember I had always found teaching to be one of my passions, so I transfered majors. Going into an education field it was mandatory to double major and it was between sociology and psychology, quickly having to make a choice I chose sociology and at that age it's difficult to decide on what to invest a large chunk of your time and money in when there are so many options and subjects/fields that intrigued me. Eventually I left because I needed to take time to figure out what exactly I wanted for my future and what my true passion was in instead of making spur of the moment decisions that I could potentially regret. Unfortunately what I regret most is that I ever left because ever since it has severely interfered with my financial aid and as more time passes I try and stay positive that one day I'll return. I would greet the customers and assist them with any questions they may have had. I performed every job from a cashier, to helping close out all of the drawers, and do the books at the end of each night I was scheduled to close. Eventually, I was trusted to be the person in charge on the floor which meant I'd help any cashier when they needed a simple override, or if they were dealing with a difficult customer and anything in between. I would work behind the service desk at times, which dealt more with the lottery, returns, answering the phone, and assisting loss prevention when needed. It was a decent job to have in high school, and I was able to experience a few different roles which gave me experience I needed in my future careers! Show less

      Jan 2010 - Jan 2012
      Receptionist

I was the receptionist, and the only one that worked in the office full time while everyone else was an electrician and worked at their designated job sites. It was a smaller family owned company, but they were upscale and had contracts with a ton of high end clients and businesses in Boston. My boss needed someone to take calls and reach out to him when necessary as he was usually at one of the job sites, or at different meetings. I would make a fill out tike cards for all 25 employees, I filed paperwork, and even had a hand in starting their social media presence. I worked here while I was attending college, and during my breaks. I learned how to make a schedule, and prioritize above all. Show less

      Checker

I worked here as a part time job while attending school full time. I greeted customers and would take their clothing, which I then put into the proper bins to essentially get dry cleaned. Certain days and times it would be an especially chaotic environment, so it has helped me deal in high stress work situations.

      Nanny

I would arrive at her home at 7a.m. Monday through Friday so that I could make the children breakfast and get them dressed while their mother/my employer would get ready for work at 8a.m. Throughout the day I would do activities with the kid's to keep them busy, but also productive and educational. I would make sure they were well fed, always clean and went down for their naps, which is also when I would accomplish the housework, like, washing dishes, picking up toy's, vacuuming, general cleaning and laundry. I usually worked 10+ hours a day, but I truly enjoyed and loved my job and the family! Show less

I would work at clinics doing the registration for the COVID 19 vaccination as well as testing. I would enter into the database the patients information and insurance and once that was done I would have to enter their insurance into Quadex as well as proof of their vaccination into the state database SISS. I entered data for testing into NEDDS.
